How Does a Registry Repair Tool Fix Computers?

If you have any version of Windows installed on your computer, you've no doubt had to deal with inexplicable slowdown. A Windows veteran knows right away that the Achilles' heel of Windows, and the prime suspect in almost every slowdown issue, is the infamous Windows Registry. To be fair, the Registry is an indispensable part of the OS. It stores important data in a specified spot so that it can be easily accessed and, in theory, this makes your computer run faster. Unfortunately, the Registry gets cluttered very easily with fragments and blank space. This contributes to errors and slowdown and the only way to combat this is to get a registry repair tool.

What Does a Registry Repair Tool Do?

As mentioned above, the Windows Registry is easily bogged down by file fragments and other flotsam and jetsam. A repair tool goes through the Registry and removes the fragments from deleted files as well as the blank space that sometimes gets added from installing and uninstalling different programs. When these loose threads are removed, the computer is able to focus on its more immediate tasks and this causes it to run faster and more smoothly, with fewer errors.

Do I Need a Repair Tool?

Windows comes with its own Registry Repair program that is installed when you install the OS but, sadly, it often falls short in many circumstances. This is why there are so many third party companies that offer repair software that is leaps and bounds above the free program that comes with Windows.

What are Some Good Repair Programs

Before you choose Registry Repair software, you must first be sure that it is made specifically for the version of Windows that you are using. Once that is determined, it is best to stick to the more reputable and established companies. Registry Mechanic is a good option and the brand has software that covers all the major Windows versions. PC Health Advisor is another great all-encompassing Registry Repair software. Both brands are well-known and deliver results that are far and away better than the in-house Windows Registry Repair. In a perfect world you'll never need to repair your registry. This world is far from perfect, though, but at least we can take comfort in knowing that there are solutions to at least one problem that pervades this mortal coil.
